Carisoprodol is generally well-tolerated by most people and hardly has any side effects, but some common side effects linked to usage of this medicine are:-
- Drowsiness
- Lightheadedness
- Headaches
- Nausea
- Diarrhea
- Facial flushing
- Shivering.
There may be an allergic reaction, such as:-
- Labored breathing
- Swelling in the face, lips, tongue or throat

- Paralysis
- Tachycardia [rapid heartbeat]

- Convulsions
- Ataxia [inability to coordinate voluntary muscular movements]

- Agitation.

Sudden stoppage of this medicine can bring about soma withdrawal symptoms, which can include:-

- Perspiration.
If Soma is combined with other muscle relaxants, alcohol, antihistamines, anticonvulsants, anti-allergy medicines, narcotic or opioid medications, benzodiazepines, tricyclic antidepressants, CNS depressants, or even some cough-cold medicines that are sedative, it can be dangerous. In some cases, death or coma, has been reported in people who took an overdose.
